Real icebergs were brought in from Sweden for the Chanel A/W collection shown in Paris yesterday. The freezing Winter has obviously hit designers hard, an abundance of furs on the runway to ensure we are going to keep warm next Winter.
A majestic and regal collection which puts further emphasis on the genius we have lost – Alexander Mcqueens collection shown in Paris yesterday. The brand is to continue, but it will be impossible to emulate McQueen’s iconic creative style.
Fresh new designs by David Koma (top left) and Mary Katrantzou (top right) are photographed by Scott Webster for the second issue of online magazine ‘HYSTERIA’.
Jamie Bochert was captured by Steven Meisel in these striking images for Lanvin S/S 2010.
Photographer Shunya Arai (website here) shot the S/S 2010 look-book for FACTOTUM, contrasting the MODE style with a tropical location to great effect. You can view the full collection online at the FACTOTUM website HERE. Designer Koji Udo will present the F/W collection at the National Stadium in Tokyo on Tuesday 23rd March. Visit the Japan Fashion week website HERE.
ilil, the sporadic, nomadic, eclectic select store has found a new home where it will re-open on March 20th on the 2nd floor of the Kita-kore biru in Koenji. CONGRATULATIONS ILIL!!!!
Another Paris favorite of ours delivered again this season, more dark romanticism with feathered details at Ann Demeulemeester for A/W 2010/11. The Belgian designer has a store here in Tokyo in Omotesando Hills.

Graphic artist Yoshirotten produced/directed this video release from Japanese dance/electro unit Capsule. You might notice that the girl and boy in the video are actually Yuko D and2BOY.
Bernard Willhelm’s recent presentation in Paris connected Japanese Avant-garde design themes with current Tokyo street style color schemes and layering to create a Harajuku-ready collection presented in typical whimsical fashion.
St. Martin’s graduate Nicolas Petrou presented his latest collection for PETROU MAN F/W 2010/11 this past New York collection season. This was the second menswear collection from the designer who is obviously unafraid of making a strong stylistic statement (see the S/S 2010 collectionhere). The styling by Dazed and Confused’s Robbie Spencer completed a collection inspired by nomads, with sportswear materials fused with more traditional tailoring and more modern quirky embellishments such as hundreds of safety pins.
The first stand-out collection of the season took the predominant dark colors most maisons are using and embellished them to make a dark glamor which is more a modern take on a film noir femme fatales than the goth chic many brands have been presenting. Alber Ebaz’s Lanvin collection is perfectly styled and cast, the highlight of the international collections so far.
Yesterday saw the release of the 3rd issue of √ ‘Real Tokyo Fashion’ magazine. Still in it’s infancy, the magazine features the young designers and brands that are making an impact. We collaborated with DRESSEDUNDRESSED for an editorial featuring their S/S collection for this latest issue. They also have an online magazine HERE.
