マーク・ジェイコブス（Marc Jacobs）が世界初となる単独ビル（マークジェイコブスビルディング）を12月にオープン。なんともエキサイティングなニュース。米・建築事務所「ステファン・ジャクリッチ・アーキテクツ（Stephen Jaklitsch architects）」が設計した同ビルは、地下1階、地上2階の3フロアを展開予定。ガラス張りで高級感を出す1階をはじめ、2階は「幾重もの直線彫り」が特徴のテラコッタで覆い、プレタポルテ専用の「プライベート空間」にするとのこと。ビルの「顔」となるのは、最上階部分の壁面「Lantern （ちょうちん）」。そして、新しくなったマーク・ジェイコブスのウェブサイトもチェックしてみるべし。HERE.
‘OPENING DECEMBER 2010’ the sign on the window says it all really. That’s when the new Marc Jacobs Japan flagship store opens in Aoyama. The award winning structure, designed by Stephen Jaklitsch architects, sits between Cartier, Miu Miu and Kate Spade, just round the corner from the Prada building. This area of Aoyama is beginning to rival Ginza in terms of flagship store architecture. I took the above right photo last week, the store looks ready to greet customers.
