LANVIN for H&M “HAUTE COUTURE” FASHION SHOW in NY

THANKS TO H&M FOR INVITING US TO AN UNFORGETTABLE EVENING.

LANVIN FOR H&M – THE “HAUTE COUTURE” SHOW from Barracuda Film & TV on Vimeo.

Last night we attended the LANVIN for H&M “HAUTE COUTURE” FASHION SHOW at the Pierre Hotel here in New York City. H&M is renowned for it’s designer collaborations and the collaboration with Lanvin has been one of the most eagerly waited collections so far.
Guests arrived for cocktails in the hotels beautiful Wedgwood Room, the walls adorned with murals were the perfect setting for classic New York Martinis with champagne and macaroons bringing the French touch. Male models wearing the Lanvin collection and girls in full french maid guise offering further decoration to the already stunning scene. Vogue stylist Grace Coddington was there, as was LOVE Magazines Katie Grand who was the stylist behind the Lanvin x H&M show. We even managed to meet designer Alber Ebaz before the show when he popped his head out to check on the arriving guests the visionary designer was in a great mood throughout the evening, as were all of the guests. The holy Trinity of bloggers were of course there, the lovely Susie Bubble who we’d met earlier in the day, Bryan Boy all up there in his Mickey Mouse ears and furs, Street Peepers Phil Oh as well as Fashion Toasts Rumi Neely.
Through in the main Ball Room, an abundance of flowers competed against an equal amount of chandeliers for attention. The show started and the fun began. The models, including Pixie Geldoff, Dree Hemingway displayed more personality than has been seen on a catwalk since the 1990’s. The star of the show was Anna Della Russo who walked with a poodle and palpable energy. It was performance like and the hundreds of people who had crammed into the hall cheered throughout. I took a video of the final walk through you cansee here in THIS TWEET.

After the show guests packed into the pop-up store down stairs to buy the collection. We saw Alexander Wang heading out with a load of bags, and Anna Sui together with Sofia Coppola who I told I was looking forward to seeing her new film. Albert Ebaz danced amongst the editors and stylists grappling for clothes, Joe managed to grab the last two pairs of sunglasses and we talked to Anna Della Russo who is just as lovely as you would imagine, she told us she will be coming to Tokyo earlier next year. Another amazing moment was meeting a hero of mine, Patrick Demarchlier who liked my Ambush Rings and told me I was a lucky man to me living in Tokyo. After doing our shopping we rounded off the night with an entertaining dinner at the 21 Club with the ladies from Vogue Nippon, WWD Japan and of course H&M Japan.

We don’t really write so many reports like this, we usually let the photos speak for themselves but as we spend most of our time in Tokyo so it was fantastic to be given the opportunity to be more ‘amongst things’ and we really appreciated it, thanks to H&M for inviting us to an unforgettable evening. Seeing Alber Ebaz create such a beautiful collection and then party it up after brinign so much joy to the room was an inspiration. I hope I managed to capture the spirit of the evening (there’s a ‘Disposable Lives’ film on the way too).
