2月13日に新作2010年秋冬新作コレクションを発表したアレキサンダー・ワン（Alexander Wang）。なんだか、90年代にフラッシュバックしたかのようなショーだった気が。実際にショールームでそれぞれのアイテムをチェックしてみると、なんだか方向性が変わってきている気がした。パリを目指すワン氏。

話題のセレクトショップ「オープニング セレモニー（OPENING CEREMONY）」が8月30日、シブヤ西武モヴィーダ館に登場。ニューヨーク発の高感度セレクトショップとして知られる、オープニング セレモニー。今回は、長年の顧客として知られるクロエ・セヴィニー（Chloe Sevingy）とのコラボや、アレキサンダー・ワン（Alexander Wang）初のショップ・イン・ショップを実現させちゃうとか。そして、もっともエキサイティングな豪華セレブも、この日のためだけに来日を予定しているとか。
ライフスタイル別に独自性のあるフロアを構成し、メンズとレディスを同じフロアで販売予定。売り場は、地下1階から地上7階の8層となっており、営業面積は2,390m²でロサンゼルス店の2倍以上となっている。
また、オープニング・セレモニーではアパレル商品だけではなく、アクセサリー、ホームウエア、音楽、書籍などの幅広いカテゴリーでの展開を予定している。

American based store ‘Opening Ceremony’ is set to open a ‘Mega-boutique’ over 8 Floors of Shibuyas Seibu Movida Building on August 30th. The Tokyo store will be Opening Ceremony’s first international opening, bringing the likes of ACNE, Alexander Wang, Outsiders and The Row all under one roof in Shibuya. Add to this Opening Cermony’s own line as well as a collaborative collection with Chloe Sevingy. Pictured above is the unique layout of the store interior.
Another collaboration for the store opening is with Harajuku’s favorite designer Jeremy Scott. These over-size ‘Troll or Dare’ T-shirts feature a troll clad in the Jean Paul Gaultier designed basque from Madonna’s 1990 ‘Blond Ambition’ Tour, about which the documentary ‘Truth or Dare’ was released. They will be available exclusively from Opening Ceremony stores.
Chloe Sevingy, who has collaborated on a Fall line with Opening Ceremony, stars in this video by Joe Denardo to celebrate the Tokyo opening of the store.

先日2009年度CFDA（Council of Fashion Designers of America）アワードにノミネートされたデザイナーが発表された。毎年恒例行事となったCFDAは、ノミネートされたデザイナーのアイテムをモデルに着せてイメージを紹介していたが、今回はいつもと違った写真を企画。フォトグラファーは、クレイグ・マクディーン（Craig McDean）、スタイリングには、カール・テンプラー（Karl Templer）らが担当。そう、今回はデザイナー本人に自身のブランドを着せ、今までとは違ったかたちでの紹介。一番目にいってしまうマーク・ジェイコブス（Marc Jacobs）のルックは、マドンナも使用していたあのバニーイヤールックだ。（右写）。また、若手デザイナーには先日来日していたアレキサンダー・ワン（Alexander Wang）と、ジェイソン・ウー（Jason Wu）らが初のノミネート。

The designers are amongst the nominees for ‘designer of the year’ at the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) which is seen by many as Americas ‘fashion Oscars’.

Top high-end select boutique ADELAIDE held a cocktail party for American designer Alexander Wang at their Aoyama store in Tokyo Thursday evening. Enjoying his fourth visit to Japan, Wang met with many of the cities fashion press before heading down the road to Le Baron for an after-party. アメリカ・テキサス州出身のエリン・ワッソン（Erin Wasson）は、モデルであると同時にスタイリストとしての顔も持ち、アレキサンダー・ワン（Alexander Wang）のコレクションのスタイリング担当をしたことでも有名だ。そんな彼女が、サーフブランド ルカ（RVCA）とのコラボレーションで09春夏シーズンからエリン・ワッソン × ルカ（Erin Wasson × RVCA）を発表。

Erin Wasson, top model and two season Alexander Wang stylist and muse, released her own women’s line for S/S09. In collaboration with the surf and skate brand RVCA the collection continues for A/W09. This is the second season in what is initially a 3-year contract between the texas beauty and Californian brand.
東京コレクションシーズンに日本に訪れてたブライアン・ボーイ（Bryan Boy）を改めてここで紹介。
ブライアンは、フィリピン出身のファッション・ブロガーでコレクションはもちろん、自身のことをオープンに記事として書き込み、時には読者を笑わせてくれる。彼を好む一人として、マーク・ジェイコブス（Marc Jacobs）が1枚の紙に ” I Love Bryanboy” と自ら記入しメッセージを送っている（下記写真）。
ブライアンがどんな人物かわかってきたかな？
TOKYO DANDY TEAM は、ありがたいことにそんな彼をスタイリングすることになり、3月27日（金）に撮影を行った。撮影場所は原宿で、14時にラフォーレ原宿裏で待ち合わせをし軽く打ち合わせを済ませ撮影スタート。ヘア担当はSHIMA原宿店でディレクターを勤める奈良裕也。天気も良く順調に撮影が進み、予定よりも1時間早く終了したので竹下通りにあるFaline Tokyoに顔を出し、マリさんことBABY Maryに会いにいった。
ブライアンは、ファリーンを後にコンデナストの事務所に向かった。同時進行でMTVの取材もあり、”ブライアン一日密着取材”てきなかたちで撮影が進んでいたのだ。きっと、ブライアインはその日とての疲れただろう。

そんなブライアンは、ファッションデザイナー、ライター、ブロガーたちのインスピレーションの源泉でもあるのだ。もちろん、TOKYO DANDYのインスピレーションの源泉でもある。
Known globally for his witty and honest take on the fashion industry through his website bryanboy.com, internet phenomenon Bryan was in Tokyo for fashion week at the end of March. Tokyo Dandy caught up with Bryan in Harajuku to take a few shots wearing some of the seasons best cuts from the high-end selection at Aoyama store Addition Adelaide.
Bryan’s blog had been a fashion insiders favorite for some time before the attention of designer Marc Jacobs brought it to even greater prominence. Noting Bryan’s ‘passion for fashion’, the American designer famously named an ostrich bag from his 2008 collection the ‘BB bag’ in Bryan’s honor.
Blogging from his computer at home in the Philippines and through nothing short of hard work and a love for all things fashion, BB has achieved amazing success – in turn becoming an inspiration for fashion designers, writers and bloggers alike. Bryan is changing the rules for fashion journalism, putting bloggers in the front rows at international collections (he finally met Marc Jacobs at the New York A/W collection this year.)
In Tokyo for just a week, we did well to fit in time with Bryan between interviews and meetings he had with many of the cities fashion press. For the shoot Shima creative director Yuya Nara took care of the hair whilst the MTV cameras that were following Bryan for the day recorded the action. After we wrapped up we headed down to Faline to say hello to Baby Mary before Bryan was heading off to the Conde Nast offices.
Bryan was a breath of fresh air for Tokyo Fashion Week and many here, including us, look forward to the next time he’s in the city. Until then we’ll be checking bryanboy.com.
