今、もっとも注目を集めるアラブ現代美術を紹介する日本初の展覧会「アラブ・エクスプレス展：アラブ美術の今を知る」が、6月16日より森美術館にて開催される。急速に変化を遂げるアラブ世界。生活習慣からアイデンティティに至まで決して一括りには語れない文化の多様性を持っている。アーティストたちは、その中に息づく伝統、信仰、慣習、気候風土に由来する独特の美意識や、人々の日常生活と社会の現実を、さまざまな美術表現を通して鮮やかに映し出している。また、ここ数年、欧米の美術館ではアラブ現代美術を紹介する展覧会が頻繁に開催され、アラブ世界においても、ドーハ（カタール）にマトハフ・アラブ近代美術館が開館（2010年）、アブダビ（アラブ首長国連邦）にはルーブル美術館とグッゲンハイム美術館が建設中であるなど、アート産業が成熟しつつあるとのこと。アラブな世界！乞うご期待！詳しくはコチラ！

Mori Art Gallery, located at the top of Mori Tower in the Roppongi Hills complex, has put on some of the most memorable exhibitions over recent years. They look set to continue this trend over Summer with ‘Arab Express: The Latest Art from the Arab World’, a group show featuring photos, paintings, videos and installations from the Arab Worlds leading contemporary artists.
