DIOR PRE FALL 2015 in TOKYO

「ディオール」のアーティスティック・ディレクター、ラフ・シモンズによる「エスプリ ディオール 東京 2015」コレクションが、昨夜開催された。

大相撲興行をはじめボクシングなどの格闘技の試合で使用される両国国技館を会場に、西洋と東洋が混じり合った日本の首都からインスピレーション得て発表した「エスプリ ディオール 東京 2015」。「東京は常に私のインスピレーションを与え続けています」「特に人々がこれほど自由にさまざまな服を着ている街は、世界中のどこにもありません。スタイルからの解放、新しい構造を持った服。それらはストリートのみならず、東京のファッションデザインの歴史にも現れています。強烈で心躍る場所なのです」と語るラフ・シモンズ。

マイケル・ゴーベールによるサウンドトラックは、新宿の街をヒントにした「Blade Runner」やビョークの「Hunter」などの楽曲をミックスしたもの。メゾン史上初となるフォールコレクションのランウェイ開催地として、東京が第一回目の都市として発表された。コントラストを象徴したモチーフとして、コレクション全体にスパンコールが取り入れられていて、ケーブルニットやアランニット、フェアアイルセーターなどの伝統的なアイテムに施される一方、アンダーウェアとタートルネックのレイヤード、厚手のウール、ウォッシュドレザー、コーティング仕上げされたコットンなどと、よりコンテンポラリーなデイリーアイテムと組み合わせている。

会場には、ファッション関係者はもちろん、アーティストに俳優陣と多くの著名人を招いて今年一番盛大なものになった。また、世界各国から訪れたジャーナリストにディオールのグローバルチーム総勢100名、計1600人以上の招待客が来場した。

DIOR chose Tokyo to show its first ever pre-fall runway show on Thursday night, flying in 100+ global fashion press and packing out the National Sumo Stadium with local media, celebrities and party kids for the biggest fashion event to take place here this year. Creative Director Raf Simons drew inspiration from the Japanese location for the collection, a smooth, shimmering wardrobe of Blade runner ready pieces. Models criss-crossed the hallowed floor of the Kokugikan Sumo Stadium to a Michel Gaubert produced soundtrack consisting of Vangelis’ Blade Runner Film Score and Bjork’s ‘Hunter’. After the audience had clapped and cheered the final walk and through adn raf took his bow, staff surged onto the floor to assemble low slung chairs and tables. As the music peaked, the black wall at the back of the hall slowly raised to reveal a bar as wide as the room, attended by smart boys in skinny ties with barrels of sake and bottles of champagne. As if that were not enough, we found ourselves at the after-after party in our usual Trump Room Haunt… the perfect way to see out 2014…
