Mademoiselle C now on Netflix Japan

A recent addition to netflix Japan is ancient by fashion standards (2013) but still a good watch. It documents the life of Editor Carinne Roitfeld as she sets about creating the first issue of her self titled magazine ‘CR book’. With the help of Stephen Gan (with whom Roitfeld has now gone her separate ways in a deal with Hearst publications). Less lofty as similar documentaries and seemingly fixated on framing Carine as a ‘MILF’ and quintessential queen of ‘Parisian style’, the film offers a behind the scene look on shoots with Bruce Weber and Tom Ford, at the Met Gala, at Chanel’s 2012 Tokyo events and with a scene-stealing Karl Lagerfeld. A fun watch now on Netflix Japan.
