This is a couple of months old but we just came across it today and fell in Love. Mademoiselle Yulia and Yu-chan from Faline in polaroids by Nobuyoshi Araki on the cover of french magazine ‘Ja louse’. The magazine had previously done a Tokyo special and chose these photos from their trip for the cover of their December issue which is a Polaroid special.

スティーブン・クライン（Steven Klein）によるヴォーグ・オム・ジャパン（VOGUE HOMMES JAPAN）のメインエディトリアルが登場。表紙モデル、ライアン・コーニング（Ryan Koning）。スタイリング、ニコラ・フォルミケッティ（Nicola Formichetti）。また、他ページでは、エディ・スリマン（Hedi Slimane）による青春白書物語。また、日本からはアラーキーこと、荒木経惟によるエディトリアルも登場。モデルには、サマソニで来日していたレディ・ガガ（Lady Gaga）とのファニー コンビネーション。

VOGUE HOMMES JAPAN 第3号 9月10日発売

Here’s the cover for Vogue Hommes Japan Vol.3 starring model Ryan Koning photographed by Steven Klein and styled by Nicola Formichetti. The Formichetti/Klein collaboration takes up 30 pages inside the magazine which also includes photography by Hedi Slimane and Lady Gaga shot by Araki.

数日前にYouTubeをチェックしていたら、気になる画像が目に飛び込んできた。そう、VOGUE NIPPONの2008年9月号で使用されたエディトリアルの映像バージョン。撮影場所は、写真家のアラーキーこと荒木経惟が夜の事務所として使用する新宿の秘密基地。モデルには、ラケル・ジマーマン（Raquel Zimmermarnn）。隣、秘密基地女将さん。フォトグラファーには、マリオ・ソレンティ（Mario Sorrenti）。スタイリング、ジョージ・コルティナ（George Cortina）。他エディトリアルでは、女優の菊池凛子や会員制バー カスバの令子ママも登場。

写真家のマリオ・ソレンティによる “トーキョーで見たある風景” というタイトルで新宿の秘密基地に訪れた時のワンショット（下記写真）。個人的には、写真に写ってるアラーキー、ラケル、女将さんの背後が特に好きだ。トーキョーらしい雰囲気が出ている。

I was playing around on youtube when I came across this video which I instantly recognized as being filmed on a shoot from one of my favorite editorials in VOGUE NIPPON. The scene with Nobuyuki Araki and Raquel Zimmerman took place in Arakis favorite karaoke bar. It was part of ‘Portrait of a City’ which is actually from the October 2008 issue. Shot by Mario Sorrenti and styled by George Cortina, it also featured Reiko from Casba as well as Kikuchi Rinko.

I love behind the scenes stuff, especially on photo shoots. Even a as a subject Araki creates a contagious energy. See the photos as they appeared in the magazine below…..
