スペインの南部に位置するアンダルシアの地をイメージ源に「yoshio kubo（ヨシオクボ）」2014年春夏コレクションが発表された。幕開けと同時にフラメンコの衣装を着た女性たちが香水瓶を手に会場を香り付け。ファーストルックは、ギターとプロのタップダンサーによるタップスの音で登場。どこかスパニッシュマリンな雰囲気も感じ取れる今季のヨシオクボ。全体的に目立っていたのは闘牛プリントや闘牛士を思わせるアウトフィット。変形したテーラードジャケットや袖の内側のストライプ。終盤「スパニッシュアロハ」と名付けたヨシオクボ オリジナルのテキスタイル ルックは、旅を楽しむ大人の男性にも見えた。
A trip to Spain inspired Yoshio Kubo’s colorful collection for Spring/Summer 2014 at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Tokyo. Perfume spritzing falmenco dancers opened the show with a spanish guitar and a tap dancer adding Spanish spirit to bolster the bright oranges and matador prints worn by the models who all sported lacquered black hair and thin mustaches. Matador elements could also be seen on the shoulder pads of one T-shirt and the silver embroidery of another set-up. Blazers worn with shorts added a European resort like element to the collection, a travel element continued through holdalls and clutch bags. Two-tone rain coats in red and blue were another stand out piece featuring layered elements which elevated wardrobe staple to something modern and fresh.
