70年代〜80年代のヤング・カルチャー、ゲイ・カルチャーを被写体にして人気を誇るスイス生まれの写真家、ウォルター・ファイファー（Walter Pfeiffer）のベスト写真集 「 In Love With Beauty 」 を紹介。彼の写真集に出てくるほとんどのモデルが素人モデルで、ストリートでハンティングをしたとか。 また、現在ファッション誌で活躍している沢山のフォトグラファーたちも多大な影響を彼に受けていただろう。ブルース・ウェーバーもその中の一人であるに違いない。
‘In Love With Beauty’, released earlier this year, is the first chronological look at the work of Swiss born photographer Walter Pfeiffer’s work. The book covers four decades, from the early 70’s to his current work. The photos range from kittens to causual encounters and classic set piece photography, a lot of which celebrates male beauty with the models Pfeiffer scouted himself. Pfeiffer’s influence can be seen in the work of better known names such as Terry Richardson and Jurgen Teller, looking through ‘In Love With Beauty’ it’s clear to see why others have found Pfeiffer’s work so inspirational.
