デザイナーのカール・ラガーフェルド（Karl Lagerfeld）が、ココ・シャネル（Coco Chanel）誕生125周年を記念した5ユーロ硬貨をデザインした。
硬貨表面にはココ・シャネルの横顔が、裏面にはもっとも人気だった香水 CHANEL 5 の”5”が配され、そのうち金の特別硬貨は99枚限定で、計11.099枚の硬貨が発行される。
2008年12月1日発売スタート。
Karl Lagerfeld has designed these 5 EURO coins to mark the 125th anniversary of the birth of Coco Chanel. The number 5 was chosen due to the popularity of Chanel’s No.5 perfume. 99 gold and 11,900 silver pieces will be available from December 1st.
